Man stabbed in domestic fight [U1]

Stabbing: A young local man is treated for his wounds after reports of an attempted robbery.

— Update @ 3.12pm: Police say this was actually a domestic-related incident during which the 23 year-old man caused himself an injury, not a robbery.

Detailed forensic investigation and extensive enquiries were conducted throughout the morning.

As a result, it became apparent that the evidence was not consistent with the report of attempted robbery.

Lincolnshire Police say no robbery has occurred and nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident.

A considerable amount of police time and resources have been spent dealing with this report and members of the public have been inconvenienced by the resulting road closures.

Lincolnshire Police will be looking at the most porportionate way of dealing with those involved.

— Original @ 10.59am: Lincolnshire Police say a 23-year-old local man was stabbed following a report of an attempted robbery in Lincoln.

The incident happened in The Avenue area of the city at about 3am on November 20.

The wounded man was taken to Lincoln County Hospital where he is being treated

Roads in the surrounding area were closed while Scenes of Crime officers conducted an examination.

The roads were fully reopened by 9.15am.
