North Hykeham chips in with mini Christmas market alternative

Replacement: A mini-market in North Hykeham will be taking place this month to replace the traditional market’s void.

After the sudden cancellation of the traditional Lincoln Christmas Market, others have now put together a day of festivities for the city.

The event will be held on North Hykeham’s Village Green on December 15 from 3pm, and was created by North Hykeham Town Council and Reverend Canon Richard Eyre.

Attendees can expect fairground rides and stalls, as well as typical festive market food like mince pies, hog roasts and mulled wine (including non-alcoholic).

Father Christmas will also be there for the children, as well as local schoolchildren singing.

All profits form the mini-market will be donated to charities FAB (Army-run charity) and the YHA, a charity providing holidays for children who lost a parent in the wars.

For those looking for a longer alternative to Lincoln Christmas Market, the Healthy Hub will be running a three-day Christmas Market this weekend.
