Traffic delays warning due to funeral

Funeral traffic: A funeral procession may cause traffic in Lincoln to become congested tomorrow.

Police are warning drivers of possible disruption in the city centre due to a funeral procession on Friday, December 3.

Insp Mark Garthwaite said: “A large funeral procession will be passing through Lincoln City Centre on Friday December 3, involving a horse drawn hearse, which will obviously slow traffic in the area.

“At about 11.30am the funeral procession will enter the city centre at the bottom of Canwick Hill and will travel north along Canwick Road and then north along Broadgate before turning right into Monks Road.

“After the service, at about 1pm, the procession will travel back along the same route to got to the cemetery in Washingborough Road.

“Police Officers and staff will be positioned to assist the procession in the area.

“Other road users are asked to be patient, and if possible, to try and avoid the area during these times.”
