A part of Carholme Road is closed to traffic after three cars were involved in a crash near the Grandstand just before 3pm on Wednesday.
Police, Ambulance and Fire & Rescue services attended the scene just before 3pm and say no one suffered any severe injuries.
Recovery of the vehicles involved is underway and police investigators are are at the scene.
One of the cars was severely damaged and was pushed onto the green, while the third car involved was removed.
The portion of A57 along the West Common is currently closed, about an hour after the crash at 4pm.
Police say there is still some oil spillage to be cleared from the road before traffic returns to normal.
