City drivers warned over thefts from cars

Car crime: Police are repeating their plea for drivers to stop leaving property in their cars after more thefts in Lincoln.

More thefts from cars in Lincoln prompted a fresh police warning for drivers to stop leaving property in their cars at any time.

Police say thieves smashed the window of a car in Keddington Avenue, Lincoln, between 9pm on April 14 and 7.50am the following morning. They stole a laptop.

Offenders also smashed a window on a Renault Clio in the same road at around 2.45am on April 16 and they stole a bag.

A white, skinny man wearing a dark hooded top was seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time.

Police officers said thieves are operating in the city and it takes them seconds to smash a window and steal from a car.

They warn that people leaving property on show in their cars drastically increase their chances of becoming a victim of crime.
