East Midlands Trains alters timetables

Altered: East Midlands Trains will be changing their timetable around for the summer months.

Select train services from Lincoln Central Station run by East Midlands Trains will see a timetable changes from this weekend.

Starting May 22, trains running to Doncaster, Cleethorpes, Newark Northgate and Peterborough will be either re-timed or in some cases, trains added.

The changes are to make way for the summer period, when more people will be using trains to get to holiday destinations.

As a result of busier trains, the East Coast Main Line (London to Edinburgh) has also had to do alterations, causing East Midlands Trains to re-shuffle its own timings.

The new timetable will run until December, then East Midlands Trains will then revert back to the originals.

Passengers are advised to double check the train’s timetable for any new changes for its departure.

Customer Service Director David Horne said: “The new timetable will see some small timing changes, particularly around the Lincolnshire area as a result of changes to the East Coast Main Line timetable.

“We’d advise passengers to check on our website for a copy of the new times.”

The routes affected by changes are:

  • Newark Northgate – Lincoln – Cleethorpes: Due to East Coast Main Line alterations, some timings will be changed. There will also be Sunday services again from Cleethorpes and Grimsby.
  • Peterborough – Lincoln – Doncaster: This line has also been retimed due to East Coast Main Line changes.
