Elderly woman robbed after offering help

Theft: An elderly woman was robbed in her home after kindly allowing a stranger to use her toilet.

Police are looking for information after an elderly woman was burgled in her property on Gaunt Street, Lincoln.

The incident happened at around 10am on September 27.

A 73-year-old lady was in One Stop Shop on High Street when a woman approached her, desperate for the toilet.

The lady invited the stranger back to her house around the corner to use the toilet, while she remained in the lounge.

The suspect asked to wash her hands in the kitchen sink, and then quickly left. Once gone, the elderly woman found cash held in a money box had been taken.

The suspect is described at white, around 18-years-old, with straight dark brown hair. She was slim, with a tanned complexion and wearing black slim fit jeans and a black top. She had with her a pint of milk.

Anyone who saw this person in One Stop Shop or in the Gaunt Street area on Tuesday morning should contact Lincolnshire Police quoting incident 282 of 27th September 2011 on 0300 111 0300.
