New train ticket machines to tackle queuing

Better machines: Additional ticket machines will make getting tickets to travel on the train easier in Lincoln.

East Midlands Trains says a new ticket collection machine to be installed in November at Lincoln Central station should reduce queueing for passengers.

The new machine will allow people to pick up pre-booked tickets with their card rather than having to wait to use the full service ticket machines or kiosk.

Jayne Moyses, Sales and Customer Relationship Manager, said more and more people now choosing to buy their tickets online.

“We wanted to provide even easier access to passengers simply wanting to collect their pre-booked tickets and who don’t necessarily need to use one of our full service ticket machines.

“Passengers booking tickets online can already get access to the cheapest fares through our Best Fare Finder, and our investment in these new ticket machines will provide greater opportunity for them to be collected easily and quickly at the station.”

The machine will be available to use in Lincoln by the end of November, while stations such as Sheffield, Nottingham and Loughborough already have access.
