County Mercedes dealer goes into administration

No more: A county garage has gone into administration, leaving Lincolnites without jobs.

A Mercedes dealership based in Lincolnshire has gone into administration, leading to more than one hundred jobs losses.

H & L Garages, which serviced and sold Mercedes Benz vans and lorries, has seven garages in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, including one on Outer Circle Road, Lincoln.

The company went into administration on December 2 and out of 194 employees, 170 across the company have been made redundant.

BDO LLP‘s Paul Bates and Graham Newton are now joint administrators of H & L Garages, and are seeking a buyer for the assets.

BDO business restructuring partner Paul Bates said: “Unfortunately the economic climate and difficult trading conditions adversely affected the business.

“The joint administrators are taking all necessary steps to mitigate risks to stakeholders and, going forward, will seek to maximise recoveries for the benefit of creditors.”
