This story is over

The annual Lincoln Christmas Market was officially opened by the Mayors of Lincoln and twin city Neustadt on December 1 on the Cathedral steps.

The first evening of the market was bustling with visitors checking out some of the 256 stalls in the Cathedral square an Castle areas.

More than 150,000 people are expected to visit the market until December 4.

On Friday the market opens 10am to 9.30pm, on Saturday from 10am to 9.30pm and on Sunday between 10am to 7pm.

Motorists will be restricted in uphill Lincoln; a Park and Ride service is in place from the Lincolnshire Showground, starting at £12 per car (concessions available).

For more information on the market, take a look at the entertainment programme or visit the Christmas Market website.
