HRH The Princess Royal visited Lincoln Cathedral on December 13 to attend the Townswomen’s Guild’s Northern National Carol Service.

Princess Anne is the Patron of the Townswomen Guild (TG), the biggest UK female campaign group.

After the carol service, HRH signed the cathedral’s visitor’s book and was presented with a posy in the TG colours of green, white and violet, symbolising women being given voting rights.

The posy was presented to Princess Anne by Barbara Howie, the Chairman of the Central Lincolnshire Federation of Townswomen’s Guilds and a member of Lincoln Minster TG, who met the princess earlier this year.

Princess Anne will return to Lincoln in the new year to formally open the new School of Engineering at the University of Lincoln.
