A46 from Lincoln to Newark to be resurfaced

Road improvements: Resurfacing works on the A46 between Winthorpe and Hykeham roundabouts will begin next week.

Work to resurface the A46 from Lincoln to Newark will begin on Monday, February 13, and is expected to finish at the end of March.

The work will take place between the Hykeham roundabout in Lincoln and the Winthrope roundabout in Newark.

All activity will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am, and work will also include replacement of road markings and cats eyes.

During the works, the sections of the A46 will be closed at night and diversion routes will be signposted.

Mark Braithwaite, Highways Agency project manager, said: “This essential work will improve driving conditions for motorists and prolong the life of the road.

“The work has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum but I would advise drivers to check conditions and leave extra time for their journeys if necessary.”
