Lincoln construction company Lindum has gained Top Construction Company and 18th place in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies To Work For 2012.

The top 100 list is complied annually, by surveying a quarter of a million employees from thousands of companies.

Lindum has appeared in the list since 2004, but according the company chairman David Chambers, this is one of the best ranking yet.

He said: “We are delighted to be ranked eighteenth in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For Award 2012 and, even better, the highest ranked UK construction company.

“As entry in the competition is based on confidential employee feedback we get to know what are employees really think about the company and the board.”

A number of employees attended the awards event, which was held on February 23, including Matthew Hydes, who started working for the company in 2010.

He said: “I have worked at Lindum for a relatively short period of time compared to most of the employees and it’s great here.

“All the employees are very different individuals but they have one thing in common and that is the desire to do a good job and understand that this is achieved best as part of a team.
