A Festival of Light will be bringing more entertainment to Lincoln during the Olympic Torch relay on Wednesday, June 27.
From 3pm until 10pm, shoppers, residents and visitors can enjoy entertainment around the Brayford Pool for free.
Britain’s Got Talent stars Grace and Ted, space hopper races, fireworks, comedy, dance acts, a Lady Gaga tribute and live bands is just a selection of entertainment available on the day.
The event is organised by the University of Lincoln and Lincoln BIG and will culminate in a big fireworks display at around 10pm.
Community group Off The Bench will be providing sporting activities for children, such as a street golf, boxercise, ten pin bowling, street hockey penalty shoot out, futsal skills slalom, basketball shoot out, mini athletics and curling.
Along the University driveway, there will be an Italian market selling a variety of sweets, sausages, olives, snacks, and other foods.
The University’s Events Manager Lesley Bunn said: “The Festival of Light will be such a great event, packed full of entertainments and all for free.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming people from the city and beyond.”
