Lincoln business wins award at flower show

Special award: A Lincoln flower business has won a special award for excellence at the Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show.

A Lincoln company has received a special award at this week’s Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

Victorian Violas, from Fulmer Road, Lincoln, who specialise in a variety of Viola flowers, gained the prestigious Silver Gilt Flora RHS Award.

The RHS Awards celebrate the very best in horticulture displayed at the show, recognising the highest standards of garden design and plantsmanship.

The Silver Gilt Flora award is the second highest accolade available after Gold, followed by Silver and Bronze.

Victorian Violas, run by Rob Chapman, gained the silver for his floral marquee display titled Hardy perennial violas in weathered terracotta bowls.

Two other Lincolnshire companies, Style Roses and Southfield Nurseries, also picked up an award.

The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show runs from July 3 to 8, with July 5 onwards being for members of the public.

Tickets are still available and start at £14.50 for adults. For more information, visit the RHS Show website.
