An early learning group from North Hykeham, which teaches sign language skills to babies, has been voted the best in North Lincolnshire.
Baby Signing Lincoln received the top prize from the UK’s biggest parenting site, Netmums.com, and is currently listed amongst the national best on the website.
Over a million mums were able to vote in the awards, which makes it the UK’s biggest parenting prize.
The pre-school class helps teach basic sign language skills to young children and babies through a variety of nursery songs and stories.
This skill enables an early form of communication between parents and their children.
Siobhan Freegard, founder of Netmums.com, said: “Pre-school classes are one of the very best ways to bond with your child, and provide hours of fun for all the family.”
“We were very impressed by the high standard of classes in North Lincolnshire but Wendy Moat from Baby Signing Lincoln class was a worthy winner.”
Wendy Moat, a local mum who runs Baby Signing Lincoln, is due to receive a certificate from Lincoln Netmums editor Jane Massey.
“I’m delighted our class has been crowned the best in North Lincolnshire. The Netmums award means so much as it’s voted for by the parents,” said Wendy.
“I love running the class and its fantastic to know the parents and children enjoy it as much as I do.”
The group is based at the Memorial Hall in North Hykeham and runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 to 11am.

What do a festive turkey dinner, Christmas pudding and yule log have in common? None were picked by the people of Lincoln when we asked for their favourite festive food and drink!
There were festive nods to mince pies, cheese boards, and Brussels sprouts, as well as some rather different choices.
