An arts festival which will include photography, painting and soundscapes is coming to Lincoln in October.

Regrouping, the latest show from BendInTheRiver, will showcase then work of 31 artists from three different countries. It will be the group’s biggest show to date.

The festival, taking place in the Usher Gallery, Lindum Road, from October 6-27, will also include drawing workshops and instillation art.

London artist Helen Barff and Chloe Briggs, from Paris, will be making drawing tools and leading workshops at the Gallery as part of the Big Draw, a worldwide celebration of drawing running throughout October.

Sites in Nottingham, Sheffield and Gainsborough will also host the festival, which will be a build-up to BendInTheRiver taking permanent residence in Regrouping’s Sheffield venue in January.

Each of BendInTheRiver’s 15 core artists has invited another artist to contribute to the exhibition.

BendInTheRiver is a group of artists based in Gainsborough which hosts Arts Council funded projects across the midlands.

“It is very exciting that the dynamic of Regrouping has spread beyond our project space at x-church in Gainsborough to other regional venues,” said Marcus Hammond, Co-Director of BendInTheRiver.

“We have always put energy into supporting and developing artists and arts infrastructure in our region. The size and scope of Regrouping feels like a physical manifestation of all this invasive activity.”
