After the popularity of summer sporting activities for children, partly due to the Olympics, the City of Lincoln Council is planning more sessions for the autumn.
Over the summer holiday, the city council saw 769 Lincoln children take part in its Olympic-themed sporting activities.
Activities held in a number of city venues included football, hockey, dodgeball, Parkour, dance and a bungee run.
The council has now finished the event schedule for the autumn half term, featuring the same activities as the summer sessions.
Keith Taylor, Senior Sports Development Officer at the City of Lincoln Council said: “It’s fantastic to see this amount of young people take part in sport during the summer holidays.
“There are a wide variety of activities that take place so there is something for everyone to join in with and have a bit of fun. We really hope this Olympic spirit is carried on into the autumn.”
Sessions will take place between 10am and 4pm:
Monday, October 29 – Priory Witham Academy
Tuesday, October 30 – Bracebridge Community Centre
Wednesday, October 31 – Sudbrooke Drive Community Centre
Thursday, November 1 – Birchwood Youth Centre
Friday, November 2 – Priory Witham Academy
Children wanting to join in must have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian before taking part, dress appropriately for activities and bring a packed lunch.
