Woman dies after being hit by car on zebra crossing

Police appeal: A 93-year-old woman died following injuries sustained when she was hit by a car in Lincoln in September.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a 93-year-old woman died following injuries sustained when she was hit by a car in September.

Two women, aged 93 and 63, were struck by a red car as they used the Boultham Park zebra crossing outside the police station.

The incident happened just before 11.30am on Tuesday, September 4. The 93-year-old woman involved has died as a result of her injuries on October 28.

Her daughter, 63, was also treated in hospital for serious but non life-threatening injuries. The driver stopped at the scene. He was not arrested.

A number of people aided the women as they lay on the road until the police and ambulance personnel arrived.

Although some witnesses have come forward, police would like all the people who were at the scene to contact them.
