Yarborough Leisure Centre and Lincoln Castle Academy have been announced as the host venues for Lincolnshire’s Summer Sainsbury’s School Games next year.
Around 1,200 schoolchildren from an estimated 75 primary and secondary schools will take part in the sports event on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
Stuart Blackbourn, Active Nation Contract Manager for Lincoln, said: “Building on from last year which had such a positive atmosphere, it is a significant event where the youth of Lincolnshire can display their sporting talents but most importantly enjoy just taking part.”
Participants will take part in a number of sports including tennis, athletics, rounders, golf, cricket, swimming, volleyball, sitting volleyball and boccia.
Gareth Short, School Games Project Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “It’s great to have Yarborough Leisure Centre and Lincoln Castle Academy on board as a partner for the second time after they hosted the Lincolnshire School Games earlier this year.
“The facilities at the leisure centre are fantastic and will provide a great venue for Lincolnshire’s Summer Sainsbury’s School Games in July,” he added.

He then passed it over to a trust administered by a group of women who have run it ever since. After experiencing a series of visions in 1936, he was inspired to create a school where the “principles and practices of a virtuous and meditative life could be taught.”
