New app for Lincolnshire business group

New app: Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce has launched a new app in the App Store for its bi-monthly business magazine.

The Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce has launched a free business magazine app for a iPhones and iPads.

The Chamber BM app is a mobile version of the group’s bi-monthly business magazine, Chamber Business Matters. The app updates whenever a new magazine is released.

Simon Beardsley, chief executive of the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Nearly 50% of the adult population in the UK now has a smartphone, and feedback from our members highlighted a desire to receive information from the Chamber electronically – so we decided to explore the idea of creating an app.

“It’s about giving people a choice. Currently over 4,000 copies are delivered for free to members and non members across Lincolnshire.

“In a recent survey 92% of our members questioned said that they read the magazine for updates, networking opportunities and workshops that they can attend to learn new business skills.

“But in a digital age we can not ignore those who want to access information through their smart phones and mobile devices.

“This app means that members and non members can keep up to date with the Chamber’s news whilst they travel around the county and country doing business.”

Chamber BM was built with KM Media & Marketing, a local publisher in Lincoln.

John Owens, a Lincoln based online marketing consultant and trainer, said: “I prefer using electronic formats to get my information because I work away from the office a lot.”
