New luxury bar coming to Lincoln

New bar experience: A new club will officially open and create 35 jobs this week after undergoing a revamp.

After the closure of Wahoo almost 7 months ago, the disued bar is being replaced with a new venue for party goers.

The unit on the corner of Silver Street and Bank Street is being refurbished by Orange Pith, to become Quo Vadis — Latin for “Where are you going?”

The new bar will officially launch on December 7, after a preview party on December 1.

Quo Vadis cost Orange Pith £100,000 to revamp, and will follow a “sumptuous” theme, with two bars, VIP areas and booths, a dance floor and cocktails.

The new bar will also create 35 jobs in the city, and be open seven days a week to those looking for an evening drink.

The venue comes after Wahoo closed in early 2012, due to the previous management going into administration.

General manager of the site, Nigel Collinson, said: “We are excited to be launching our new late-night venue, which will be open from 8pm until 3am seven nights a week, and offer people relaxing surroundings in which to enjoy premium spirits, bottled beers and great cocktails.

“We believe our venue, which is licensed for 700 people and feature both island and cocktail bars – including ten intimate booths capable of seating groups of up to eight friends – will appeal to the student market during the week and maintain a ‘grown-up’ feel at the weekend.”

Mr Collinson is a former British Entertainment & Discotheque Association
manager of the year – a recognition gained during a 10-year spell as regional director of London’s Hippodrome and fourteen related sites.
