Lincoln Blockbuster store set to close

This story is over

The Blockbuster store on Moorland Close off Tritton Road in Lincoln is set to close, leading to up to 10 job losses.

Stores in Stamford and Wisbech were closed in February after the company went into administration earlier this year; more than 320 stores countrywide were shut.

Although the Moorland Close branch escaped the administrators’ closures, the store is closing down after a new buyer for the lease has been agreed.

The store will close on March 21 and up to 10 jobs will be lost.

Store staff told customers they will no longer be renting films out and it’s unclear whether any pre-ordered films will be delivered to them.

Only one Blockbuster store will remain in Lincoln, at the Carlton Centre.
