With two of Lincoln’s busiest car parks closed for maintenance, drivers are being diverted to other car parks in the city centre.
Lucy Tower Car Park closed to the public on March 25, and will not reopen until August, while £1.1 million restructure work takes place on the lower levels.
Meanwhile, Thornbridge Car Park closed in February for £400,000 resurfacing works, initially meant to take a few weeks.
However, due to cold temperatures and snow, the membrane for resurfacing couldn’t be laid, causing delays to the work.
The membrane process needs five days with temperatures above 5°C to ensure it sets properly — the constant breaks of snow have meant temperatures were below freezing on many days in recent weeks.
Fortunately, there are a few alternatives, many not far from the city centre, that can be used while these two are out of action.
