Lincolnshire Police Chief Constable back on the beat

Back on the beat: Lincolnshire Police’s Chief Constable returned to work on Friday and went on patrol in Lincoln city centre.

Lincolnshire Police’s Chief Constable Neil Rhodes returned to work this week and joined police officers on the beat in Lincoln on Friday.

He decided to go on foot patrol on his first day back in the job to remind himself that policing is all about serving the community.

Mr Rhodes explained there had been tensions with the Police and Crime Commissioner and it had been a very difficult few weeks.

He said: “But the judge in the High Court very firmly drew a line under that and I am looking forward to a very calm and sensible working relationship with the PCC and am very firmly committed to achieving just that.”

Last week, Chief Constable Rhodes’ suspension from work was lifted after a High Court ruled that Lincolnshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Hardwick’s dismissal was unfair.
