Stolen car recovered: A man has been arrested after police officers traced a stolen car in central Lincoln on Thursday.

A man has been arrested after police officers traced a stolen car in central Lincoln on Thursday.

A gray Peugeot 307 was reported stolen on Thursday morning from Ploughman’s Lane in Lincoln just before 10am.

It is unclear how the car was stolen at this stage, as the keys did not appear to have been taken.

The car is believed to have been used in a series of shop thefts.

The stolen car was spotted in Lincoln city centre and the Road Policing Unit closed in on the vehicle, which was seized with the help of plain clothes and local officers.

The Police Dog Unit and officers also intercepted the suspect and detained him on the High Street at around 12.20pm.

The car was recovered from near the bus station and returned to the owner, while the suspect remains in police custody.
