Police warning to Lincoln students after sneak-in burglary

Repeated warning: Police are reminding students to lock unattended doors and windows after another burglary in the West End.

Lincolnshire Police are reminding students again to be more vigilant with their property after another student house burglary in Lincoln.

The incident happened on April 9-10 between midnight and 3.10am at a student house on Bedford Street in Lincoln.

The offender is believed to have entered via an open upstairs window, and stole an Xbox console from one of the rooms.

Officers say student homes are constantly targeted in Lincoln, especially in the West End, and in most cases the burglars get in via unlocked doors and windows.

Lincolnshire Police are urging students to be more security-conscious and make sure they lock doors and windows at night, or if they leave the house.

Officers are also reminding students not to leave doors open for housemates who may be out late at night, something that led to another recent burglary.

Anyone with information on this burglary should call 101, quoting incident number 33 of April 10, 2013, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
