Lincoln home burgled while owner was gardening

Seasonal burglary: Police are appealing for information after a Lincoln home has been burgled, with jewellery and cash stolen, while the occupier was gardening.

Police are appealing for information after a Lincoln home has been burgled, with jewellery and cash stolen, while the occupier was gardening.

This happened at around midday on Monday, June 3, at a house on Doddington Road.

It is believed the offender entered via an unlocked front door while the occupier was gardening in the back garden.

The suspect searched through the bedroom and stole jewellery and cash before leaving through the front door.

Lincolnshire Police said they would like to remind householders to keep doors locked during the warmer weather, even when they are out in their gardens, to prevent opportunist thieves.

People are also advised to register their property on Immobilise.com, a UK national property register which helps to trace owners of lost and stolen property.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the Doddington Road area around midday on June 3, or who has any information about this burglary is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident 234 of June 3, 2013 and ask for PC 855 Steve Parker.
