Deceased driver in Saxilby car crash named

Road remains closed: A driver died on the scene following a two-car crash in Saxilby, near Lincoln, on Monday, July 22.

Update: Police have named the deceased as Michael Rajowski (87), of Main Road, North Clifton, Nottinghamshire.

A driver died on the scene following a two-car crash in Saxilby, near Lincoln, on Monday, July 22.

The incident took place at around 12.15pm on B1190 Tom Otters Lane at the junction with Sand Lane in Saxilby.

A 50-year-old male driver of one vehicle was taken by Air Ambulance to the Queens Medical Centre at Nottingham with serious injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.

The other driver was certified as deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the cars and no one else was injured.

The road is likely to remain closed for some time, Lincolnshire Police said in a statement.
