Waddington International Airshow 2013 — Day 2

Super Sunday: There was plenty on hand for spectators to do during the second day of the Waddington Airshow.

The weather certainly kept thousands of visitors going to RAF Waddington on Sunday, July 7, for the second day of the Waddington Airshow.

The 18th show is celebrating the 95th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force, 70yrs since the raids on the German Dams of WW2 and the 100th Anniversary of RAF Waddington’s own 5(AC) Squadron, so is putting on one of the biggest entertainment events in Lincoln.

The airshow treated spectators to seven hours of aircraft displays from areobatics teams from across the world. Meanwhile on the ground, visitors could enjoy hangar tours, trade and craft fairs, a Classic Car and Vintage Military Vehicle Exhibition, and a funfair. Some aircraft were positioned outside for people to take a closer look.

RAF Chinook won first prize for the best air display over the show, while the Belgian F16 snapped up the best static display.
