An independent children’s clothing retailer invested £60,000 in its new store on Burton Road, which is opening later in September.

Bo Peep Boutique is getting ready to open at the end of the month with designer labels for children of all ages.

Shop owner Emma Graham has previous experience in retail and has also worked as a travel agent and a childminder.

Bo Peep Boutique is a retail business debut for mum of two Emma, who also manages sideline house renovation projects.

Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, Emma moved to Lincoln in 2004 and plans to run the boutique with the help of family members.

She said: “Lincoln is an up-and-coming designer hotspot.

“There are a lot of adult outlets in the uphill area, I think it needs something for children.

“People are becoming more fashion conscious and if they don’t spend money on themselves, I know they spend it on their children.

“I have two children myself and I saw a gap in the market, everyone I have spoken to thought it is a really good idea.

“The shop will be a showcase, and will catalogue ranges available to order. We’re not going for a cram-it-high approach,” Emma said.

Showcasing brands such as French Connection and Crew Clothing, Bo Peep Boutique will stock a mixture of traditional and modern ranges.

“It will be a totally different experience to what you would get at a department store,” Emma added.
