Vision of Lincoln: Photo competition finalists up for public vote

Pick your favourite: The final five amazing photos for a Lincoln photography competition are announced, and you can vote for your pick.

The Waterside Shopping Centre challenged people in Lincoln to enter their ‘vision’ of the city into their photography competition following the installation of a giant image of Lincoln Cathedral in the centre.

All of the entries were put to an expert judging panel who selected their top five, which will now be put to a public vote via the centre’s Facebook page.

Chantelle Henderson, Marketing Co-ordinator at the Waterside explained: “Our vision for the Waterside is now becoming a reality, with H&M and Next just over a year away from Lincoln’s High Street, but we wanted to give our shoppers the chance to share their vision of the city with us.

“The response to the huge photograph of the Cathedral has been absolutely fantastic, and it has inspire the people of Lincoln to get out and take their own shots.

“The quality of entries was very high and the judges had a very tough job selecting a top five. Our favourites are now on display in the centre and the public can vote for the winner on our Facebook page.”

The judges also included The Lincolnite Managing Editor Daniel Ionescu, Andrea Green from Lincoln Cathedral, and professional photographer Phil Crow, who took the Cathedral shot displayed in the Waterside currently.

Phil Crow said: “Judging the entries for the Vision of Lincoln competition with the other panelists was great fun. We had a lot to debate.

“A good variety from all sorts of budding photographers. The final five images are varied and the photographers should be proud. I’m looking forward to seeing which one wins the vote!”
