Lincoln panto brings road show to schools

Panto road show: Actors from this year’s pantomime ‘Cinderella’ have been travelling across schools in the county to give them a taste of what’s to come.

Three Lincoln actors from this year’s Cinderella pantomime at Lincoln Drill Hall have been entertaining school children around the county with their annual Panto Road Show.

Hartsholme Academy in Lincoln welcomed actors James Kane, Adam Feilding and Natalie Hayes-Cowley ahead of the pantomime launch on December 11.

They are visiting schools who have booked to see the pantomime in order to familiarise them with the live show’s format.

The children took part in workshops and got involved in the performance.

Adam Fielding, who has performed in all of the road shows, said: “The Christmas pantomime at Lincoln Drill Hall is always a fantastic experience and bringing these workshops to schools around the county really gets the children into the Christmas spirit, and me as well!

“This is my fifth year with the Lincoln Drill Hall Panto Road Show and it’s great that we can offer them to schools who have booked to see Cinderella. Once the children have seen our road show they then can’t wait come and see the panto”.

Natalie Hayes-Cowley, who plays the Fairy Godmother, added: “The workshops are a lot of fun as we give the children a high energy, fun show which tells them a little about the history of panto.

“As well as putting on a potted version of the show, which includes getting some of the children up on stage, one of the male teachers from the school dressed up in a dame’s outfit. The children always love seeing that!”

The production of Cinderella runs from Wednesday December 11, 2013, to Saturday January 4, 2014, at Lincoln Drill Hall.
