Lincoln marketing firm wins two national awards
Winning big: Lincoln marketing company Lava scooped two gold awards for two of its recent campaigns.
(L-R) Harry Gration (Master of Ceremonies), Annie Bowden, Lisa Yates, David Wright, Matt Hammerton, Joe Degand, Sammy Greener, Ed Willmott and a representative of the award sponsors.
A Lincoln integrated marketing agency’s hard work has paid off as it came top for two awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.
Lava, which offers clients design, digital, public relations and social media marketing services got gold awards at the annual event.
It received Best Event for its marketing campaign for SO Festival 2012 on behalf of East Lindsey District Council, and Best Use of Social Media for Milk4Childminders, part of Cool Milk.
As well as the creative and engaging integrated marketing communications campaign for SO Festival, Lava also organised a high risk publicity stunt, which managed to put the festival into national media, meaning an increase in audience and spending.
Meanwhile, the social media campaign for Milk4Childminders achieved national recognition from PRWeek, and helped Cool Milk build a relationship with childminders, generating a significant increase in sales.
The judges felt Lava’s research on the subject and target market propelled the success of the campaign.
Lava Managing Director Matt Hammerton said: “We had a great night at the PRide Awards. Everyone at Lava works incredibly hard to help their clients achieve their objectives.
“We don’t set out to win awards, we set out to do our best for the organisations that choose to work with us.
“However, it’s an amazing feeling when our efforts receive recognition from our peers.
“It’s really satisfying to know that a vastly experienced panel of judges have looked at our campaigns and believe our work is amongst the best in the country.”
CIPR President Sue Wolstenholme FCIPR, added: “The Yorkshire and Lincolnshire CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the very best public relations campaigns, teams and individuals from across the regions.
“The exceptional quality of entries received this year is a real testament to the thriving industry which exists here in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
“The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK regions and nations and to win an award is a great achievement.”

“Nell Barrington has worked with us and VisitEngland on the founding application processes of these awards, and she is perfectly placed to assist in co-creating applications that you can be proud of. This is a great opportunity for business development too – whether you are shortlisted for an award or not – discovering how to effectively apply for awards and talk up your business adds another string to your bow.
