Lincoln city centre saw an explosion of colour, costumes and music on Saturday, June 14 as the Lincoln Festival and Carnival hit the streets.
The show-stopping day for all the family saw a Commonwealth-themed carnival snake its way around the Brayford Waterfront, the University of Lincoln and High Street.
This year’s carnival featured young people from St Faith and St Martin’s Junior and St Hugh’s Catholic Primary Schools in Lincoln, All Saints Primary School in Waddington and community groups from The Showroom in Lincoln.
Attractions included a traditional fairground, have-a-go golf and a programme of water-based activities and displays.
The event, which was organised by Lincoln BIG and the University of Lincoln, also showcased performances from the stage on the university campus, where there was also face-painting, food stalls and a bar.
The Lincoln Festival was brought to a close with a finale fireworks show launched from the Brayford Pool island.
