Lincolnshire estate agents expand with merger

Better together: Two estate agents with branches in Lincoln and the surrounding areas have merged to form a 170-strong workforce.

Two estate agents with branches in Lincoln and the surrounding towns have merged to form a 170-strong workforce.

Newton Fallowell and Hartleys have joined forces in a deal overseen by Lincoln-based Langleys Solicitors.

Established by Mark Newton in 1999, Newton Fallowell has 21 branches, including Lincoln, Boston, Stamford and Grantham, with 1,600 homes for sale throughout the region.

Hartleys, formed by Gary Hartley in 1995, operates four offices and in 2010 was named Estate Agency of the Year by the Sunday Times.

The merger was finalised on July 1 and Gary Hartley joined the main board of the business.

Newton Fallowell CEO Mark Newton said: “This is a beneficial move for both businesses; Gary Hartley is a veteran of the industry and his knowledge and experience will be invaluable going forward.

“In addition, the location of Hartleys’ branches are in locations where Newton Fallowell didn’t previously have a presence, so in more ways than one, it is a perfect fit.”

Sarah Miles, a partner at Langleys Solicitors, who acted on the merger, added: “Both Newton Fallowell and Hartleys are well established names in the East Midlands, and this merger makes for a very strong force.”
