Lincoln jobs created at new DPD couriers depot

New depot: DPD’s Lincoln depot will mean more jobs and mail not having to travel from other nearby cities.

Courier service DPD have invested £100,000 in developing its first depot in Lincoln, which is expected to create 46 new jobs.

The new 27,500 square foot facility is located on the Sunningdale Trading Estate on Dixon Close in Lincoln.

The expansion will also increase the delivery company’s ability to handle Business to Consumer (B2C) parcel volumes.

It will take over a number of routes from DPD’s Sheffield, Nottingham and Peterborough depots to improve the service out to the east coast as well as to some Doncaster, Grimsby and Retford postcodes.

Dwain McDonald, DPD’s CEO, said: “Lincoln is part of our ongoing programme of expansion, enabling us to increase our capacity, ensuring we are always several steps ahead of the competition and the growing demand for our services.”
