Lincoln Sports Direct expansion creates 15 jobs

Sports retailer Sportsdirect.com is getting ready to open its new store in the St Marks shopping centre in Lincoln, after creating 15 new jobs.

The brand will move from its previous unit at St Marks into a 14,337 sq ft store previously occupied by JJB Sports, which closed after the company went into administration.

The existing store will be closed on Friday, November 14 and the new store, at Unit 16 in St Marks, will open on Saturday, November 15.

Some 15 jobs have been created on top of the positions that will transfer across from the old store.

As previously reported, the previous unit began a “closing down” sale in the lead up to the move.

The company, which was founded in 1982 is the UK’s largest sporting retailer with over 400 stores nationwide.

The shop will supply well-known sportswear brands, footwear and sports equipment at reasonable prices.

Brands in store include Nike, Adidas, Lonsdale, Puma and Dunlop.

Throughout the opening day, there will be a host of discounts and a number of offers are available to shoppers online via the link.
