Cyclist injured in crash with double decker bus in Lincoln

Cyclist injured: A male cyclist has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Lincoln city centre.

A male cyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with a double decker bus in Lincoln city centre on Tuesday, May 12.

Police were called to the scene at the Wigford Way junction at 10.02am, where the cyclist had collided with a PC Coaches of Lincoln bus.

An ambulance attended the scene and the man was transferred by Air Ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary. The extent of his injuries are unknown at the time of writing.

Police say that the road at the junction with Brayford Wharf East will remain closed for some time.

Motorists are being advised to find alternative routes.

Any witnesses to the crash are being asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 100 of May 12.
