Road closure set to repair Lincoln footpath damaged by lorries

Pavement repairs: Mint Street in Lincoln will be closed for five nights to repair damage to a footpath by lorries driving on the pavement.

Mint Street in Lincoln will be closed for around five nights for work to repair footpath damage caused by lorries driving on the pavement.

Work begins on Monday, July 27 during the nights between 7pm and 6am to avoid major disruption.

The closure will run from the junction of Mint Street to High Street.

Dave Chetwynd, principal engineer at Lincolnshire County Council said: “Due to lorry drivers driving over the footpath, some repair work needs to be made to the damaged kerbs and paving slabs.

“The contractor will also be taking measures to ensure that recurrence of the problem is reduced.

“We will do our best to reduce disruption to the public and motorists and we thank them for their patience and cooperation during this time.”
