The Courteeners and The Kooks coming to Lincoln venue

Indie stars: Tickets go on sale next month for a series of highly anticipated Engine Shed appearances.

Indie sensations The Kooks and The Courteeners are heading to Lincoln as part of their tours this winter, and tickets go on sale next month.

The gigs at The Engine Shed on the University of Lincoln campus are expected to welcome sell-out crowds with the Courteeners scheduled to play on November 27 and The Kooks on December 16.

The Courteeners’ December tour comes off the back of their highest charting album so far, Concrete Love, and a series of highly rated festival performances.

The Kooks have also had a non-stop year following their sold-out ‘Listen’ tour in 2014. The pop-rock band have also appeared this year at festivals including Reading and Leeds Festivals, Glastonbury and V Festival.

Tickets are open to the public from the Engine Shed website, or available to buy from the University of Lincoln Students’ Union Reception.

Michael Redpath, Entertainments Manager, said: “Getting acts such as The Kooks and The Courteeners is really exciting.

“It marks the start of us reigniting our relationship with a number of national concert promoters including SJM, Live Nation & more.

“By working with them, we’ll be able to keep the momentum going and always have high calibre performances at the venue across a range of genres.”

Wade Baverstock, Vice President Welfare & Community added: “I believe that there is something for everyone lined up over the next few months and hopefully our venue can become common ground for the residents and the students of Lincoln.

“We really want to create a sense of community within Lincoln and this is just the start.”

Other acts that are lined up to perform at the Engine Shed include, Josh Widdicombe, Bullet for my Valentine, Nina Conti, Asking Alexandria, Sarah Millican, Of Monsters and Men, Happy Mondays, Roy Wood and Ed Byrne.
