Work on Canwick Road tidal flow for two days to fix Bracebridge broadband

Faulty cable: One lane of Canwick Road will be closed for at least two days at the tidal flow for BT Openreach to carry out repairs.

One lane at the Canwick Road tidal flow will be closed for at least two days for BT Openreach to carry out repairs.

The restrictions will be in place from 6pm on Saturday, September 26, to 6am on Monday, September 28.

One lane will be closed, which will leave one lane in, and one lane out of Lincoln.

The work is to replace a 750 metre length of 1400 line cable, which was put in in 1957, Openreach said.

This cable serves properties with phone and broadband services in the Bracebridge Heath area, and currently more than 100 properties are affected by the faulty cabling.

A BT Openreach spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused, to our customers, and road users. But we are working, through the nights, and on Sunday to restore service, and lessen the impact on road users.”

If the works are required to continue after Monday, BT plans to keep the lane closures for further nights from 7pm to 6am.
