Lincoln bus services are in line for a series of changes as growing passenger numbers leads to an extended North Hykeham system.
Changes will come into force from November 1 primarily in the Teal Park and North Hykeham area, as well as other minor amendments around the city.
With growing passenger numbers, and in response to requests from North Hykeham Town Council and local residents from the Mill Lane housing development, Stagecoach East Midlands is extending in North Hykeham, to run in to the city from Pennell’s, Tiber Road (including the new community hub and Co-operative), Severus Crescent and Mill Lane.
The operator says that changes in the Teal Park area are due to funding for the Access LN6 scheme coming to an end.
After working in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, Stagecoach has revised routes to the city network in order to continue service to Teal Park and Sadler Road.
Buses will run hourly between Brant Road, North Hykeham & Teal Park and half hourly at busy times for workers between Birchwood, Doddington Park and Boultham Park.
Andy Smith, Commercial Manager for Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “We have looked very closely at our bus services covering this area of our network and are pleased to be extending the routes in North Hykeham via Pennells and Tiber Road, meaning more people will be able to benefit by using the bus.
“We will be holding information days with Lincolnshire County Council for passengers to come along and find out more about the changes and discuss their travel needs.
“We’ll be in Lincoln City Square on Thursday, October 22 from 9am to 2pm, and at the Birchwood Neighbourhood Centre on Monday, October 26 from 10am to 2pm, where staff will be on hand to answer any questions.”
