Aviation enthusiasts will be able to relive the iconic reunion of the last two airworthy Lancaster Bombers as film-makers prepare for the premiere of a film documenting their 2014 tour.
Special guests including veterans, producers and flight crews from both the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Canadian Lancaster will meet at the Kinema in the Woods at Woodall Spa for the official UK premiere on Monday, November 23.
The Cineplex Entertainment documentary ‘Reunion of Giants’ follows the last two flying Avro Lancasters, Lincolnshire’s own Thumper and Vera from Canada, as they flew side by side for the first time in 50 years.
The much-anticipated film includes first-hand accounts from the men and women who experienced the war and were connected to the Lancaster.
It transports the viewer back in time as they share what it was like during the Lancaster’s glory days. The historic mission is unfolded through the eyes of the flight crews, veterans, friends and family. It includes all parts in this new chapter of the bomber’s history, as Vera crosses the Atlantic.
“We are so pleased to provide Canadians with the opportunity to remember the valiant crews who flew and maintained the Lancaster bomber,” said Pat Marshall, Vice-President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex Entertainment.
“We look forward to offering Canadians a chance to experience VeRA’s incredible transatlantic journey this Remembrance Day.”
Reunion of Giants will be available in both DVD and Blu-ray format direct from selected retail outlets across the UK or online, where people can also find more information.
