Merseyside man charged in connection with Lincoln village burglaries

Charged: A Merseyside man has been charged with a spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries near Lincoln.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Saxilby.


Update: Leyden was remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln Crown Court on a date to be set.


Ben Leyden, originally from Prescot in Merseyside, has been charged with:

  • Burglary of addresses on St George’s Mew, Sykes Lane and Torksey Avenue
  • Attempted burglary of a property on Westcroft Drive and Warwick Close

All the alleged offences occurred on Wednesday, January 6.

Police issued an appeal for witnesses on the same day, and asked villagers who have CCTV installed at their homes to get in touch.

Leyden has been remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 7.
