LIVES encourages runners of all abilities to sign up for Lincoln 10k 2016

Fundraising plea: Lincolnshire charity LIVES is urging residents to sign up and raise crucial funds at the upcoming City of Lincoln 10k.

Lincolnshire charity LIVES is urging residents to sign up and raise crucial funds at the upcoming City of Lincoln 10k.

The annual race takes place this year on April 17 and LIVES is once again one of the nine official partner charities for the event.

LIVES is now on the search for runners of all abilities to sign up and help raise funds to support its life-saving work across Lincolnshire.

The charity consists of medics and first responders who are all volunteers giving up their time to respond to emergencies in the county.

Stephen Hyde, fundraising manager at LIVES, said: “The City of Lincoln 10k is an important event in the region’s calendar and last year we were thrilled to be one of the official charities.

“This year we are urging people to join the LIVES team, as this race is a great way to help LIVES raise part of the £1 million we need each year to keep helping the people of Lincolnshire.”

The City of Lincoln 10k has been running for 20 years and 2016 marks the second time that the event been organised by Run For All – an organisation which celebrates the legacy of the late Jane Tomlinson CBE, who raised almost £2 million for charity through a series of endurance challenges – despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.
