Motorists travelling east of Lincoln are likely to face delays for much of April as work continues to repair a collapsed sewer in Wragby.

As reported last week, the sewer collapsed at the junction of the A158 and the B1202, with Victoria Street in Wragby closed.

An estimated completion date of April 29 has been pencilled in by Anglian Water, who are undertaking the repairs.

Sarah Dobson, from Anglian Water, said: “To allow the work to be completed as quickly and safely as possible, unfortunately Victoria Street will have to be closed.

“Traffic lights will be in place at the main junction with Market Place and manned during peak hours to help keep traffic moving.

“The sewer is deep with many other utilities and services to negotiate when you start digging underground. This makes the repairs complicated and sometimes time consuming, but we’re aiming to finish as soon as possible. Our teams will be working extended hours where possible.

“We know closing this road could be disruptive and we’re sorry for that. However, it’s important we repair this sewer to prevent any further damage to the pipe and to protect services for our customers.”
