Lincoln-based commercial property agency Hodgson Elkington has been acquired by Lamber Smith Hampton, part of Countrywide Plc.
Hodgson Elkington is the largest surveying practice in Lincoln and specialises in commercial and residential development land and property management.
Acting for both the private and public sector, the agency currently has over 4,000 occupiers paying rents. Last year alone, it advised on over £1 billion of real estate and is currently active on over 300 acres of development land.
Sam Elkington, Hodgson Elkington’s Senior Partner and one of its founders, will become head of Lambert Smith Hampton’s Lincoln office.
He said: “We have seen our business grow every year from its inception including during the recession. We also have an extremely exciting future ahead of us.
“I am pleased that the whole Hodgson Elkington team of 37 is transferring across to Lambert Smith Hampton as part of the deal. Lambert Smith Hampton is one of the industry’s most ambitious operators and there is a real buzz about the place.”
Lambert Smith Hampton’s enterprising CEO, Ezra Nahome, said: “We are building the UK and Ireland’s most progressive commercial property consultancy: strengthening the business through targeted acquisitions that have talented individuals who share our ambition is fundamental to our strategy.
“We are committed to providing further insight for our clients and the market intelligence they need. We are driven and we know this is what makes us stand out and why we continue to win market share.”
Hodgson Elkington is based on Doddington Road in Lincoln. Its lettings subsidiary, HE Lettings, was also bought and maintained by Countrywide in February 2015.
