A 15-year-old boy sustained serious injuries when a car ploughed into him and two other pedestrians in Grimsby.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the collision on Hainton Avenue on Friday, July 22.

He had been driving the silver Vauxhall Vectra which crashed into the pedestrians at 8:40pm.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The 15-year-old boy and two pedestrians had been walking down Welham Road towards Hainton Avenue when the crash occurred.

The two accompanying pedestrians escaped injury.

Police are appealing to identify and locate the driver of a dark coloured hatchback car seen close to the Vauxhall Vectra prior to the incident.

Information so far suggests the dark hatchback car may have had existing damage to the front passenger seat window.
