Jess the dog took the lead role in the Woodland Trust’s new dog video campaign, which aims to highlight how fun woods can be for pets.

Jess is a chocolate labrador crossed with Spanish water dog. She lives in Grantham with her young owner Harry Morley.

She applied to audition for the Woodland Trust’s new dog video campaign a few months ago, alongside several other eager pooches.

She was selected and as a result was given a big day out to Old Wood, Skellingthorpe.

It was here that the filming team put a go-pro camera on her back and let her run wild in the woods – the results being the video that went live on Friday, July 8.

It is hoped that the video will show exactly how much fun woods can be for pets and their owners- but also highlight exactly how much hard work and money goes into making them safe and welcoming.
